Lucy, You've Got Some Splainin' To Do

So, this time I've got two tales to tell (whoa that's a tongue twister). On Monday night I did something that I haven't done in a long time, I went to the county fair. In the northeast there are fairs but its not quite the same. There's just a different atmosphere at a county fair, not to mention better food. I had an elephant ear and a lemon shake-up. For those who don't know an elephant ear is a thin piece of fried dough covered in cinnamon sugar. A lemon shake-up is sort of like lemonade but better. There is sugar in the bottom and water and lemons are shaken into the glass. They happened to have the demolition derby that night as well. I haven't been to one of those in like fourteen years. I must say it was much more enjoyable this time. This is the only time people will cheer when cars crash into each other.

Of course vacations come to an end and we were on our way home. We stopped in Jamestown, NY, which is the hometown of lucille ball, better known as lucy ricardo on the "I Love Lucy" series. They had some very nice museums showcasing such items as lucy's gold mercedes and replicas of the sets. The gift shops had many interesting items which just had to come home with me.
