Don't Want to be an American Idiot!!

Went last weekend to New York, this time to see American Idiot. It was really good. That particular album was my favorite by Green Day. Now that I listen to it, it really is written as a story and not just a collection of songs. The more I reflect on the show the more I like it. It didn't have a direct plot, which is probably the point, so it was sometimes a little difficult for me to follow. Even so, it was a really enjoyable show. Didn't hurt that Billy Joe was in it. Before the show, a couple had told us that they had seen the show the previous night and Billy had been sick. We got a little worried that he actually wouldn't be there. Luckily he seemed to be feeling better and was in the show. His part was much smaller than I anticipated. Wonderful show regardless. Definitely one to see.

Attend the Tale of Sweeney Todd

Went to yet another event this weekend in Boston. At the Boston Conservatory they were putting on a production of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street for this spooky Halloween weekend. The production was extremely well done, excellent singing. The sets were pretty well constructed too, adding to the overall effect. Wish it had used more blood, would've been spookier. Only one complaint; it was a little long, over three hours long. It gets a little tiring when you have to sit still for so long.

Kesha

Went to see Kesha at Mohegan Sun in Connecticut this weekend. She put on a much better performance than I anticipated. It was pretty entertaining and the songs were perfect. She ended up closing with a Beastie Boys song (You gotta fight for your right to party) which was pretty entertaining. She was pantsing her band at one point which was hilarious. She's got a new song coming out, We R Who We R, which is unfortunately stuck in my head now, too bad I can't get it until Tuesday. Guess I'll just have to hunker down and wait.

Doesn't hurt that I came back with twice as much money that I took with me, thank you slot machines.

Something Wicked This Way Comes

Last weekend Miss Moon and I went to Boston to see Wicked. I've seen it before but it is one of those shows that I could see over and over again. Miss Moon had never seen it and she fell in love with it just as much as I did. We had pretty good seats towards the center in the mezzanine. The production was amazing, living up to all expectations. The effects are always to die for, the costumes were vibrant and eye catching, the music was perfect and sung beautifully. I couldn't have asked for more out of a performance.

Rock of Ages

Went to see Rock of Ages at the Colonial Theater in Boston last night. It was awesome, great music choices. Now I'm in the mood for some classic eighties rock ballads. I can thank the show for that. Constantine from American Idol played the lead role and did an excellent job. I'd say go see it but it ends in a week, maybe it'll come to your town, see it then. It was definitely worth seeing.

Happy Halloween!!

I am obsessed with holidays and with Halloween coming, of course we had to decorate the room. It seems the collection of holiday items grows with each year. Have a couple of strings of lights up now, haven't blown a fuse yet, that's an accomplishment. Just wish I could have a real jack-o-lantern but it would rot and cause the room to smell. Just have to settle with what we have, and that's a lot.

College Quirks

Back to school at last. Finished out the first week of fall semester classes.

Miss Moon and I happen to have one class together this semester and it has proved interesting. In discussions for some classes you introduce yourself to the other students. In this particular discussion we were supposed to pair up with someone we did not know and then introduce them to the class. Before we knew it we ended up paired together, acting as if we had never met. On top of that we have to do one post assignment during the semester and she and I happened to volunteer for the same one. We are hopeless.

Its been a busy week so I'm glad its over, now time for some relaxation.
